Sub10 Systems and Sitec Make Millimetre Wave Technology Available Throughout Mexico

Global specialist in the development of millimetre wave wireless technology, Sub10 Systems, has signed a distribution agreement with Mexico-based Sitec, which will see Sub10’s ground-breaking Liberator products made available across the country.

Sub10 Systems’ technology has been successfully trialled with key players such as Vodafone and Virgin, and this latest announcement comes following the company’s recent international expansion, which saw its products made available throughout Spain.

Sitec, which specialises in providing value-added solutions and integrating technology and infrastructure for both the private and public sectors, has 10 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry. Sitec utilises a network of partnerships with leading ICT technology manufacturers to extend its coverage across Mexico, North America and Latin America.

“It’s a critical time for operators that are trying to expand their customer-base and retain customer loyalty by offering them the latest services and quality of service – at a time when their networks are struggling to handle the surge in traffic from the increasing proliferation of mobile devices and bandwidth-intensive applications,” said Antonio Magana, CEO at Sitec.

“While it’s important for operators to remain competitive with their offerings, they also have to keep costs down. The technology from Sub10 Systems is going to be a major part of the operators’ fight to cost-effectively optimise their networks and we’re thrilled to be bringing these solutions to Mexico.”

Sub10 Systems designs, develops and manufactures millimetre wave (mmW) systems in the 60GHz, 70GHz and 80GHz areas of spectrum. Its Liberator wireless Ethernet bridges lend themselves to a variety of applications including: LAN extensions, small cell mobile backhaul, fibre/leased line alternative, disaster recovery, business continuity and temporary events and free space optics and path redundancy.

“Our technology is already making waves with operators in the industry and it’s great to be working with Sitec to make our solutions available across Mexico. End-user needs and expectations are growing and these needs must be addressed by operators in increasingly innovative ways or else they risk losing out,” said Sub10 Systems Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Frank Pauer.

Last month, Sub10 Systems showcased a range of products at Mobile World Congress, with a focus on the Liberator-V1000 and the newly launched Liberator-E1000, which was shown at Mobile World Congress for the first time.
