Sub10 Systems Seals Distribution Agreement with Alcoma

Sub10 Systems, experts in the development of millimetre wave wireless bridges, has signed a distribution agreement with Alcoma. The partnership will enable Alcoma’ partners and customers to benefit from Sub10’s complete wireless ethernet bridge range.

Sub10, which attended last month’s Mobile World Congress, recently conducted successful trials of its technology with major telco operators Vodafone and Virgin. The success of these trials has paved the way for the technology to be deployed, with Alcoma joining Sub10’s growing list of international customers, which also includes Diode Spain.

Alcoma is a leading designer and producer of point-to-point microwave and millimetre wave radio relay links based in the Czech Republic. The company produces ethernet/PDH/SDH point to point microwave radio relay links for 4 – 80 GHz frequency bands, including 5, 17, 24 and 80 GHz. Its links are suitable for fixed networks, mobile networks, private networks, LTE networks, freebands and ISPs.

Petr Vodicka, Commercial Director, Alcoma said: “Like markets all over the world, Eastern Europe is no different when it comes to the growth and demand for mobile broadband data. With large internet populations like Russia in the region, it’s vital that more capacity and higher speeds are made available to the end users. We are excited to be able to add Sub10’s millimetre wave technology to our selection of services and we hope our users and partners will feel the benefit of this cutting edge technology.”

Sub10 Systems designs, develops and manufactures millimetre wave (mmW) systems in the 60GHz, 70GHz and 80GHz areas of spectrum. The small form factor of its links makes them highly competitive for providing backhaul for small street-level mobile phone base-stations. Sub10’s technology can carry signals over four kilometres, which is four times further than traditional millimetre wave technology. The technology is also less affected by climate than other technologies in the same market, allowing for stronger signals in difficult conditions.

Frank Pauer, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Sub10 Systems said: “Our technology has proved itself to be highly capable and suited to the needs of today’s growing market, providing strong reliable signals, to deliver seamless quality of experience for users. Through careful planning and testing, we are now reaping the rewards of making sure our technology is 100 per cent ready for roll out. Through our partnership with Alcoma, our international reach is growing and we are delighted to be able to make our liberator series available for Alcoma to deploy across their customers’ networks.”
