The new role will see Wittert drive regional growth by developing strategic marketing opportunities to further expand on Cambium’s presence within the wireless market. Wittert’s focus will be on promoting the company’s core offering, including point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (MTP) solutions that enable high-speed accessibility, across the government, industrial and service provider sectors.

Commenting on the appointment, Philip Bolt, CEO of Cambium Networks, said: “With more than 20 years experience in the IT and communications industry and proven success in the APAC region, Roy knows the market and will be fundamental to our growth in the region. Roy understands the business, our objectives and how we can help our customers cost effectively deliver new services to meet the bandwidth growth of their networks.”

Wittert has extensive experience within the industry including distribution, channel development and management, carrier sales, managed services and video conferencing. Wittert joins Cambium after two years with Motorola Solutions, where he was the sales lead for wireless network solutions within Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this, Wittert’s experience encompasses Vantage Systems, Volante and 3D Networks, SynOptics, Wellfleet and Bay Networks.

“Many countries in the region, like Australia with the NBN, are showing an almost unparalleled commitment to broadband for its citizens,” added Wittert. “Here at Cambium we believe our fixed wireless technology solutions are well suited to meet the demanding conditions of these challenging and bandwidth-hungry markets and are an excellent complement to fibre solutions. For us at Cambium, FTTP means ‘Frequency To The Premise’. In addition, our PTP solutions have 99.999% reliability built into them and I’m tremendously excited about the potential for us to support these programs as we move forward.”
