Movius Connect Receives Strong Score From Frost & Sullivan

Editor

Frost & Sullivan has given the brand new Movius CONNECT application a score of 161% indicating that it will likely rise significantly above the background noise in the connected home messaging market.

The score comes from one of Frost & Sullivan’s annual consumer preference surveys. Using the findings, the analyst firm constructed a matrix for consumer value assessment to evaluate new products and services. A scorecard was then created that estimates the degree of resonance with the connected home market consumer.

Movius, a global leader in application enablement for service providers, has developed CONNECT to enable operators to engage in over the top (OTT) service delivery. Currently in trials, CONNECT will be globally available in early 2013 and will feature as part of the Movius Communication Applications Framework Engine (CAFÉ) platform. It allows for service providers to address both consumers and enterprise based customers.

“Movius CONNECT provides an important capability to network operators seeking to enter the OTT service provision space; one that enables OTT communication service delivery across any network or device. Movius CONNECT, if marketed appropriately, will find a significant number of interested consumers,” said Mike Jude, Frost & Sullivan Program Manager for Connected Home.

As part of CONNECT’s global launch, Movius Director of Marketing and Technology, Jose Romero, will be presenting at Rich Communication 2012 in Berlin, Germany on 6 – 7 November.

“While the RCS system is a great step forward, operators would be better served by offering an integrated open solution that allows customers to connect to any network, including RCS, via one portal. It is our vision that the operator acts as a central point connecting all social networks together and taking back the control – CONNECT achieves this,” said Mr Romero.

The Frost & Sullivan ranking shows that CONNECT exceeds consumer expectations in four out of six of the variables. It meets expectations in one of the areas and it is not rated in another.
