Cambium Networks and Wifinity connect YMCA South Ealing in time for Christmas
The annual “Good Connections” initiative by its partner, Wifinity, saw the free Wi-Fi network installed within 12 hours
Cambium Networks, a leading global provider of wireless broadband networking infrastructure solutions, has donated hardware to its partner, Wifinity, an ultrafast wireless broadband provider, for its third annual “Good Connections” initiative to help provide free Wi-Fi to YMCA South Ealing.
Providing a mix of both wireless and wired solutions equipment including its cnPilot and cnMatrix, Cambium Networks was part of the 50-person team installing the Wi-Fi network for YMCA’s residents. Beginning at 7am, the team installed, tested and connected the Wi-Fi for 151 bedrooms and communal areas at the sheltered accommodation, completing the project within 12 hours.
“We are very pleased to have played a part in working with our partner, Wifinity and connecting residents which find themselves in challenging and vulnerable situations,” said Dan McCarthy, Sales Manager UK, Ireland and Nordics at Cambium Networks. “The “Good Connections” initiative is a fantastic cause which provides communities with access to high-performance, robust Wi-Fi equipment – enabling them to remain connected with their loved ones this Christmas”.
The YMCA South Ealing provides universal support to single people aged 16 and above who are vulnerable and/or at risk and need of housing. Previously there was no Wi-Fi in either the bedrooms or communal areas.
Following the installation, residents have access to free Wi-Fi as soon as they walk into the building, enabling them to use their smartphones and tablets to search for potential job opportunities, state benefits and keep in contact with their loved ones at a time when they need them the most.
