HUBER+SUHNER to Showcase Latest Technologies for Buses at InnoTrans 2016

Editor

HUBER+SUHNER, leading international manufacturer of components and systems for optical and electrical connectivity products, will be showcasing its latest connectivity solutions for buses at this year’s InnoTrans exhibition in Berlin.

Among these products are HUBER+SUHNER’s SENCITY® Road antennas. SENCITY® Road combines several radiating elements for different communication standards – cellular, WLAN, GPS/Glonass and TETRA – for buses within a single product. This antenna can be installed on new vehicles as well as being easily retro-fitted across existing fleets, as it uses a single hole mount and doesn’t need a metal ground plane to operate.

The product has been in use by Swiss passenger transportation company PostAuto since spring 2013, when it rolled out free WLAN access across 70% of its vehicles. PostAuto chose HUBER+SUHNER’s SENCITY® Road for its compatibility with the fourth mobile telephony generation Long-Term Evolution (LTE). This forward planning meant that the widespread rollout of LTE did not require the conversion of buses.

“SENCITY® Road is flexible to use, and is available with a variety of different connectors and customer specific cable lengths” said Bernd Heidtmann, Product Manager at HUBER+SUHNER. “Because it can be retrofitted easily, it is ideal for bringing existing fleets up to date. We are excited to demonstrate what it can do at InnoTrans 2016.”

Also on show at InnoTrans will be HUBER+SUHNER’s range of bus cables. The cable family of various flexible low loss cables – GX_03272-AM, GX_04273-AM, ENVIROFLEX_316_D-AM, SPUMA_195-FR-AM, SPUMA_240-FR-AM – is ideal for connection of antennas and other radio frequency components. All these cables fulfil the specific requirements for street vehicles according to ISO 6722 and ECE R118.1.

Exhibition visitors can see the HUBER+SUHNER bus technologies in Hall 2.2 at InnoTrans 2016, Berlin, 20-23 September, at a joint stand (207) with SWISSRAIL.
