Genesis Technical Systems Announces mBond® Field Trials in Brazil to Improve Region’s Enterprise Broadband Capabilities

Genesis Technical Systems (Genesis), an award winning global broadband solutions provider, today announced the start of further mBond trials in Brazil, Latin America. Following the telecom regulatory compliance certification of mBond by the Brazilian Agency of Telecommunications (ANATEL) earlier this year, an mBond field trial was recently completed at Sercomtel Telecomunicações (Sercomtel). The two further mBond field trials scheduled to take place within the next couple of months in Brazilian telecommunication organisations will also contribute to extending the benefits and reach of the partial fibre deployments installed throughout Brazil to businesses and residents of multi-dwelling units.

Genesis has also received requests for DSL Rings® trials to enhance broadband services and capabilities for residential users in Brazil. These will be scheduled in the following months. DSL Rings supports the Brazilian Government’s national plan ‘Programa Nacional de Banda Larga’ (PNBL) to establish a wide-reaching, reliable data network infrastructure throughout the country.

These ongoing field trials highlight a growing presence in Latin America for Genesis, with reseller agreements already in place with Kerax Telecom, a distributor of telecommunication products and radio frequency infrastructure with more than 18 years’ experience working with telecom operators, ISPs, integrators and installers; as well as NEXVIA, specialists in the maintenance of telecommunications equipment.

Deploying mBond and DSL Rings would lead to significant improvements to broadband in Brazil, in particular in areas where installation of fibre cannot be justified due to the high costs of fibre deployment. mBond and DSL Rings are very attractive solutions as they can be implemented quickly over the existing network infrastructure and therefore have a low capital requirement. As part of the PNBL, network operators must meet certain parameters for coverage, capacity and price. These latest trials in Brazil will show operators a new way that they can meet these requirements and the increasing demand for high speed broadband.
