ERCOM Highlights How MNOs Can Minimize Drive Tests (MDT) using MOBIPASS at the LTE World Summit

ERCOM Highlights How MNOs Can Minimize Drive Tests (MDT) using MOBIPASS at the LTE World Summit
Editor

ERCOM, the leading provider of Real Life LTE network emulation solutions for validation and optimization, will showcase its real life LTE network emulator MOBIPASS® at next week’s LTE World Summit in Amsterdam. This unique and innovative solution successfully meets the demands of today’s Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) by reducing their drive test cost through commercial LTE network emulation.

MOBIPASS® can emulate thousands of UEs with different types of mobile characteristics and includes a unique and advanced map-based per-UE channel emulator, an easy-to-use call model builder and high performance QoS and QoE measurement tools. This in turn enables MNOs to greatly reduce the number of drive tests needed per site allowing up to 50% OPEX reduction. MOBIPASS® allows MNOs to understand the effects of key RAN parameters and fine tune their network for optimal performance.

Yannick Dupuch, CEO at ERCOM, says: “MNOs need to know their network infrastructure can handle burgeoning traffic loads without compromising performance or security. Early, reliable and effective validation has a crucial role to play in delivering the performance. MNOs rolling out LTE networks must efficiently and accurately validate their mobile infrastructures performance under strict real-world conditions, without spending vast amounts of money to do it in the field as it is done today with drive tests.”

ERCOM’s MOBIPASS® has been named on the shortlist for the Telecoms.com LTE Awards 2013, as part of the LTE World Summit. MOBIPASS® has been nominated for the ‘Best Test/Measurement LTE Product’ category, which recognizes the latest triumphs and innovations within the industry. ERCOM will be at Booth N°49 at LTE World summit 2013 in Amsterdam. While there the company will join a panel session on the 26 June at 14:45 which will focus on “Test and Measurement, Best Practice”. Following this, ERCOM will deliver a joint presentation on “Selecting the Right eNodeB to Fulfill a Business Plan” with its customer and Canadian-based MNO, Videotron.
