Twenty Bursary Winners to attend ANGA COM in Cologne Free of Charge

The SCTETM (Society for Broadband Professionals) and ANGA (The Association of German Cable Operators) will be sending twenty lucky winners of the SCTE/ANGA bursaries to this year’s ANGA COM conference and exhibition. The bursary winners are mainly chosen from various international cable operators (such as Virgin Media, IPKO and others). They will each receive a package that includes pre-paid flights and hotel accommodation for three nights (courtesy of the SCTE) and entrance to the full conference offering (courtesy of ANGA). Bursary winners must be members of the SCTE.

The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) and ANGA have a long history of cooperation. They have worked together for many years on conference sessions at ANGA COM and ANGA has a regular editorial slot in SCTE’s quarterly international magazine, Broadband Journal.

“I would like to accentuate our successful and long-term cooperation with the international SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals), with its headquarters in the UK,” commented Thomas Braun, President of ANGA. “For many years, we have developed a congress panel together, this year on “FTTH and WiFi – the Door to TV 2.0.”

SCTE will be a very visible participant at the ANGA COM event, as it has in previous years. The Society will be on booth G39 in upper hall 10.2 at the event and its quarterly Broadband Journal will be distributed throughout the exhibition and in all the delegate bags.

“We are delighted to be working with ANGA again,” added Dr. Roger Blakeway, President of the SCTE. “We will be holding a party for all bursary winners on Wednesday 5 June at 5pm on our booth G39 in upper hall 10.2 which is open to all members and supporters.”

ANGA COM, a key international conference and exhibition for broadband, cable and satellite, will take place from 4-6 June in Cologne, Germany. Under its former brand name of ANGA Cable, it attracted 16,000 business visitors (50% from outside Germany) and 440 exhibitors. It brings network operators, content providers and vendors together. The exhibition hall this year is fully booked. Besides the traditional fields of Broadband (Next Generation Networks) and Content Delivery, this year’s key topics are Smart TV, Multi-Screen and Connected Home. The congress programme consists of four high-level industry summits and eighteen strategy and technology panels.

Founded in 1945, the SCTE is a Learned Society and non-profit making organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. The Society particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in the field.
