{"id":5268,"date":"2016-02-16T16:56:20","date_gmt":"2016-02-16T16:56:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.telecomstalk.com\/?p=5268"},"modified":"2018-06-06T10:00:09","modified_gmt":"2018-06-06T10:00:09","slug":"cisco-live-2016-italtel-launches-new-enterprise-sdn-based-application-to-enable-services-network-harmonization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.telecomstalk.com\/?p=5268","title":{"rendered":"Cisco Live!\u2122 2016 \u2013 Italtel Launches New Enterprise SDN-Based Application to Enable Services-Network Harmonization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Italtel\u2019s Netwrapper application, utilizing Cisco\u2019s APIC-EM Enterprise SDN Controller, allows smart allocation of network resources according to applications\u2019 requirements.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Dynamic Admission Control is the first Italtel solution that employs Netwrapper to assure quality of experience for multi-technology UC&#038;C services.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Italtel, a leading company in Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Managed Services and All-IP communication, today announced Netwrapper \u2013 its first Software-Defined Networking (SDN) application that \u201cwraps\u201d network and services (applications), enabling a fruitful harmonization between them.<\/p>\n<p>Built on top of Cisco\u2019s Application Centric Infrastructure Controller Enterprise Module (APIC-EM), Italtel\u2019s Netwrapper understands each service\u2019s need for bandwidth and determines the right allocation of network resources in order to offer users the best quality of experience (QoE).<\/p>\n<p>The new Italtel application will be released in Q2 2016 as the \u201cpolicy engine\u201d of Italtel\u2019s Dynamic Admission Control solution: admission control policies of the multi-technology Unified Communication and Collaboration (UC&#038;C) applications are now centralized and dynamically managed by Netwrapper, which interacts with the IP network (through Cisco APIC-EM controller) on one side and with IP-PBXs on the other side.<\/p>\n<p>Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and Microsoft Skype for Business are among the first IP voice and video applications that will benefit from QoE improvements via Netwrapper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very excited to announce Netwrapper.
