HUBER+SUHNER to Highlight its High Quality Rail Cabling and Communications Solutions at Moscow Rail EXPO1520
Displays to include SENCITY® antennas and GOST and RZD approved RADOX® cables as used in Russian railway projects
Rail connectivity specialist HUBER+SUHNER is set to unveil its extensive capability in the Russian market at the Fifth International Fair of Railway Equipment and Technologies EXPO 1520 in Moscow from September 2-5, 2015.
The company, exhibiting jointly with Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) on Booth B01/1, Pavilion 1, is already successful in the Russian market with high profile projects in several cities and a wide range of products now certified to Russian GOST standards. HUBER+SUHNER’s products have also passed the requirements of RZD, the state-owned railway organisation, which included tests on durability, fire, toxicity and mechanical performance.
HUBER+SUHNER will feature its range of RADOX® power and signal cables and SENCITY® Rail roof-top antennas with corresponding radio frequency (RF) cable assemblies. In addition the company will display its diverse range of inter-vehicle jumper cables, databus cables and fiber optic cables for rolling stock applications. HUBER+SUHNER prides itself on providing high quality cables that can withstand temperatures as low as -50ºC, a key requirement in the extremes of the Russian climate.
HUBER+SUHNER has a substantial presence in the Russian market and recently announced its first success since achieving full approval. The company is to supply RADOX® cables for the series production of 54 carriages for new metro trains in a major Russian city. The new trains were manufactured in a joint venture between Russian and Czech mechanical engineering companies and are designed to consume 30 per cent less energy whilst also providing more comfort for passengers. HUBER+SUHNER provided technical advice to both companies on technical matters and supplied the cables for testing. HUBER+SUHNER has now been appointed as the cable supplier for the production of all the new metro trains, including almost the full range of RADOX® rail cables, including RADOX® databus cables and RADOX® signal and power cables. Typical uses for the cables include supplying power to the lights and data transmission for information systems.
Commenting on this year’s exhibit at EXPO 1520, Alexey Chernychev, Business Development Manager at HUBER+SUHNER Russia, said: “We can come to Moscow with fully certified products for the Russian railway market and also with projects that are in place. We are looking forward to many interesting conversations and showing our customers the wide range of solutions we can offer.”
HUBER+SUHNER has extensive experience in the development and production of cables and cable systems for railway applications and is the world’s number one supplier of connectivity solutions for railways. In addition to solutions for power, HUBER+SUHNER also develops cables and antennas for communication networks in trains and between track and trains, including fiber optic connections or antennas based on MIMO (multiple input multiple output) technology.
