World’s First Public G.hn Interop Demonstration at CES By HomeGrid Forum Members
Making rapid progress, G.hn, the global standard for wired home networking, achieves a major milestone at CES in Las Vegas; HomeGrid Forum has chosen the world’s premier consumer electronics event as the venue for its first live public demonstration of multi-vendor G.hn interoperability, moving ever closer to certified products and the widespread adoption of G.hn technology during 2012.
Set to take place at the HomeGrid Forum Booth (No. 21918 South Hall), silicon vendors including Lantiq, Marvell Semiconductor, Metanoia Communications, and Sigma Designs, Inc. have combined their efforts to produce the first public multi-vendor interoperability demonstration thus providing service providers and equipment vendors access to an unprecedented number of G.hn compliant silicon sources.
“Interoperability is the key enabler for building viable and cost-effective HomeGrid Certified G.hn based services,” said Matt Theall, President of HomeGrid Forum. “This demonstration follows a series of successful plugfests where we have been able to lay a solid foundation that will enable vendors and service providers to forge ahead with their G.hn plans.”
G.hn technology allows network devices to transmit data over any home wiring, specifically power lines, coaxial cables and phone lines.
