Huawei, one the world\u2019s leading ICT (Information and Communications Technology) providers, has joined the HomeGrid Forum. As a Contributor Member, the company can participate in HomeGrid\u2019s various working groups over a wide range of activities \u2013 from standards work, Compliance & Interoperability, to marketing and events.<\/p>\n

Joining HomeGrid underscores Huawei\u2019s growing commitment to home networking and G.hn technology. The company is focused on key business needs for the future \u2013 from Cloud to terminal \u2013 with home network connectivity being one of the main areas for growth. The company has dedicated a large R&D team to the development of powerline and Wi-Fi products, and already has a strong market presence with its home networking portfolio.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1987, Huawei is a private company with over 150,000 employees. It has established end-to-end capabilities across carrier networks, enterprise and consumer markets, with products deployed in over 140 countries and serving more than one-third of the world\u2019s population. Huawei annually invests an average of 10% of its revenues in R&D, which involves nearly 50% of Huawei employees. The company currently has 14 regional headquarters, 16 R&D centers, 28 joint innovation centers and 45 training centers worldwide. <\/p>\n
