The awards, which took place on the opening day of LTE North America attracting a staggering 800 visitors and 40% carrier attendance, are now in their third year and are designed to celebrate the triumphs and innovations of North America\u2019s LTE marketplace.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With shortlisted companies from the region\u2019s key carriers in the 4G LTE ecosystem, the awards attracted an unprecedented number of entries and this year witnessed the launch of two brand new categories: \u2018Best Backhauling Solution\u2019, which was won by Alcatel-Lucent, and \u2018Most Innovative LTE Application\/Service\u2019, which was won by Gemalto. These categories have been introduced to reflect the influx of LTE networks deployed in North America and its rapidly evolving LTE marketplace. <\/p>\n<p>Sam Oakley, Events Manager of the LTE World Series said: \u201cThe awards showcase the very best of the companies in the industry today, and recognize their accomplishments among the biggest and most influential players within North America. This year the winners can truly celebrate the hard-work, creativity and dedication that ensures the region remains at the forefront of LTE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The award winners included Qualcomm, which won \u2018Best Chipset\/Processor Product\u2019, Novatel Wireless which won \u2018Best LTE Device\/Handset\u2019, and Tekelec, which won \u2018Best LTE Traffic Management Product\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>And the winners were:<br \/>\n\u2022\tBest Chipset \/ Processor Product \u2013 Qualcomm<br \/>\n\u2022\tBest LTE Core Network Product \u2013 Cisco Systems, Inc.<br \/>\n\u2022\tBest LTE Device\/Handset \u2013 Novatel Wireless<br \/>\n\u2022\tBest Test\/Measurement LTE Product \u2013 Ixia<br \/>\n\u2022\tBest LTE RAN Product \u2013 Alcatel-Lucent<br \/>\n\u2022\tBest LTE Traffic Management Product \u2013 Tekelec<br \/>\n\u2022\tBest Backhauling Solution \u2013 Alcatel-Lucent<br \/>\n\u2022\tMost Innovative LTE Application\/Service \u2013 Gemalto  <\/p>\n<p>Organisers of LTE North America have confirmed that the dates for next year\u2019s event are 20 \u2013 21 November 2013 and will once again take place in Dallas, Texas. 2013 is set to be equally as exciting as the event builds on this year\u2019s impressive speaker line-up which included C-level executives from Google, Clearwire, AT&#038;T, US Cellular and News360.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 4G LTE community last night recognized the very best in their industry at the Telecoms.com LTE North America Awards gala and dinner at the Fairmont Dallas Hotel.
