{"id":1219,"date":"2012-09-19T14:12:40","date_gmt":"2012-09-19T14:12:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.telecomstalk.com\/?p=1219"},"modified":"2023-03-15T14:55:32","modified_gmt":"2023-03-15T14:55:32","slug":"huawei-joins-nextgen12-line-up-as-platinum-sponsor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.telecomstalk.com\/?p=1219","title":{"rendered":"Huawei Joins NextGen12 Line-up as Platinum Sponsor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Huawei, the world\u2019s largest telecommunications equipment maker, has joined the NextGen12 Conference line-up as platinum sponsor and speaker, alongside some of the leading public and private sector broadband industry leaders from across Europe.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The news follows Huawei\u2019s announcement last week that it is to invest \u00a31.3bn in expanding its UK operations in areas such as mobile broadband over five years, creating up to 700 new jobs.<\/p>\n<p>With less than three weeks to go until NextGen12 the recent reshuffle in the UK government has raised the stakes in the debate about the perceived role of broadband in revitalising the economy. Looking to address these issues, NextGen12 is being held in London \u2013 right in the heart of the \u2018Westminster village\u2019 close to the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the Whitehall offices of all the major government ministries.<\/p>\n<p>Marit Hendriks, NextGen12 director, commented: \u201cAs the UK&#8217;s independent focus for next generation broadband transformation we welcome Huawei on-board. Next generation networks are an essential foundation for economic growth, innovation and easier development. We are tackling issues that face us not only now but also in the future.
